Job Summary:
: Responsible for the provision of care to promote behavioral health and wellness by completing the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; providing biopsychosocial interventions to patients and families. Ensures that each patient is included in healthcare decision-making, as well as works toward creating and sustaining an environment that humanizes and individualizes the care for each patient. Provides a range of clinical services to include, but not limited to, assessments of individual biopsychosocial needs, acute stabilization, treatment, and crisis prevention. Clinical supervision of unlicensed team members on assigned shifts.

Takes patient vital signs. Performs common tasks including but not limited to treating bedsores, dressing wounds, bathing, dressing, etc. Coordinates visits and paperwork for patient/doctor visits. Assists doctors, nurses, and therapists with procedures. Records and reports symptoms. Reviews patient charts and records essential information including medical past and history, reactions, treatments, etc. Assists patients with daily hygiene needs.
Implements restraints/seclusion under the order of physician and direction of RN. Identifies behavior to discontinue restraints/seclusion. Administers medication and CPR. Arranges transfer to different facility. Maintains inventory and stock of clinical and medicinal supplies. Educates patient on current health issues. Practices safety and health code standards.
: Under the direction of the Registered Nurse, the State Tested Nurse Assistant promotes positive behavioral health and wellness by providing direct patient care and positive role modeling. This may include escorting and monitoring patients, as well as identifying the personal needs of patients and assisting in that care; to include but not be limited to bathing, checking, changing, turning, transferring, ambulating and other such personal care tasks. In collaboration with Rehabilitation Therapists, planning and implementing therapeutic activities and groups is expected. Additionally, some assistance with medical interventions may be required, under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
: Under the direction of the Registered Nurse, the Behavioral Health Specialist promotes positive behavioral health and wellness by providing direct patient care and positive role modeling. This may include escorting and monitoring patients, as well as identifying the personal needs of patients. : Minimum Qualifications:
· Graduate of accredited school of nursing
· Current Ohio Registered Nurse license
· Current BLS
· One year of nursing experience, minimal
· Bachelor’s degree in nursing, preferred
· Experience in psychiatric nursing, preferred
- CPI certification within 30 days of employment
:
- Successful completion of required-hours course of State of Ohio approved nursing program that includes clinical experience. License must be current and maintained as required with Ohio Board of Nursing and the State of Ohio.
- Proof of completion of a course in medication administration approved by the Board of Nursing
- Minimum Experience: 2 years.
- CPR certification
- CPI certification within 30 days of employment
· Basic knowledge of behavioral and medical care of patients
· Understanding of recovery in mental illness and substance abuse, and treatment approaches and techniques or ability to learn
· Interest in working with patients with psychiatric diagnoses
· Ability to work under stress with patients who may require constant observation
· Flexibility in work schedule
