Job Scope:
The Resident Services Coordinator (RSC) is responsible for planning, developing, coordinating, and implementing all activities, programs, and services in The Habitat Company-managed communities. The RSC teams and provides effective leadership and assistance to residents and The Habitat Company staff. The RSC also markets and recruits residents to participate in the activities, programs, and services offered by The Habitat Company and various service providers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Collaborates with the Resident Services team to plan, develop, coordinate, and implement activities, programs, and services to meet the educational, social, and community needs of residents.
Assesses the needs of each resident and develops an Individual Service Plan (ISP) with the resident and/or parent/guardian.
Assesses the needs of each community and its Resident Association and develops a Community Workplan with the residents and Resident Association officers.
Makes appropriate referrals to agencies/service providers to meet the needs of community residents and Resident Association officers.
Promote and recruit resident participation in activities, in programs, and services.
Monitors and assists with the evaluation of activities, programs, and services.
Provides excellent customer service to residents and all internal and external customers.
Maintains appropriate files and records such as Program files and Service Provider files.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Periodic inspection with residents of housekeeping issues.
Perform other related duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications:
Ability to work with a team and utilize the team approach to service delivery.
Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology or related Human Services discipline required.
Must be able to work weekends when needed.
Proven effectiveness in program design, implementation, and management.
Ability to effectively relate and interact with people of diverse cultural, social and economic backgrounds.
Working knowledge of various resources and service providers in the Chicago area.
Ability to work with community and professional groups.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability for effective presentations.
Excellent leadership and motivational skills.
Experience working with senior citizens and individuals with disabilities.
Experience in conflict resolution and crisis intervention.
Positive customer service attitude.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Able to prioritize tasks in order to meet goals and deadlines.
