Generic Network Systems (GNS) is a top-tier, boutique managed services/hosting company primarily for investment firms. We manage client systems all over the world & have an excellent reputation for proactive support.
GNS is looking for a Systems Administrator to assist in the administration & support of workstations, servers and cloud environments. This position is mostly remote but the successful candidate will need to have easy access to the Chicago (mostly downtown) metro area for occasional on-site visits to a number of our clients there. No other travel is required.
The shift for this position is from 10:00 am CT until 7:00 pm CT. There is a light on-call rotation for support on weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities:
- Day-to-day MS365 cloud administration, Windows OS workstations and servers, and application support of geographically diverse clients.
- Ensure client requests are responded to in a timely fashion
- Work closely with users over email, on the phone, and in person.
- Build, upgrade & maintain systems and applications on multiple platforms.
- Troubleshoot, resolve & document solutions related to systems and applications.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of and experience with management of Windows and MS365 environments including email, MDM, and Intune
- Knowledge of the Azure cloud platform
- Familiarity with RMM and remote assistance tools (e.g. ConnectWise)
- Experience troubleshooting issues related to Windows AD, DNS and IP networking
- Good problem-solving abilities and interest in learning
- Responsible, proactive, great interpersonal skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- 0-3 years of experience supporting the above technologies
Bonus Points:
- Familiarity with Cisco Umbrella/OpenDNS, Amazon AWS, Cloudberry
- Email Security/Spam filtering (e.g. Proofpoint, Mimecast)
- Experience with SQL Server
- Familiarity with hosted VoIP systems
- Experience in a scripting language, preferably Windows PowerShell
- Linux/Mac experience
