Position Details:

Operating Room Surgical Tech – Cardiac- Carbondale, IL

Location : Carbondale, IL 62901

Project Duration : 3 Months of contract

Pay range : $46 to $48 an hour

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist (ST) with Cardiothoracic experience to join our surgical team. The ideal candidate must be highly proficient in cardiothoracic procedures and comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-acuity surgical environment. This role requires participation in on-call rotations for Cardiothoracic (CT) Surgery to ensure 24/7 surgical coverage.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist surgeons in cardiothoracic procedures, ensuring proper sterile technique and efficiency.
• Prepare the operating room with necessary instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies.
• Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and respond quickly in critical situations.
• Maintain a sterile field and adhere to infection control protocols.
• Handle and pass instruments, sutures, and other surgical materials accurately and efficiently.
• Participate in on-call rotations and respond promptly to emergency CT surgery cases.
• Collaborate with surgical team members, including surgeons, nurses, and anesthesiologists, to ensure seamless procedures.
• Perform post-procedure clean-up and ensure instruments are properly sterilized and maintained.

Qualifications:

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred or equivalent certification.
• Proven experience in Cardiothoracic Surgery is required.
• Strong knowledge of cardiac and thoracic surgical instruments, techniques, and procedures.
• Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations and respond promptly to emergency cases.
• Commitment to on-call responsibilities with flexibility to cover urgent surgeries.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
