GENERAL FUNCTIONS:
Responsible to the Provost for coordinating the development, evaluation, and supervision of all credit instruction in business, information technology programs, health and physical education, and allied health programs. Responsible for the evaluation of directors and/or teaching faculty and staff members within the area. Oversees the assessment- and accreditation-related activities for programs in the area. Presents to the Provost the faculty and directors' concerns and interests on matters related to curriculum, instruction, and the deployment of resources. Collaborates with associates at all campus locations in promoting and maintaining the "one college" concept.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepares class schedules and teaching assignments for teaching faculty in cooperation with directors, faculty, and administrative staff.
Coordinates college-wide course offerings within the academic area.
In coordination with directors, hires for and coordinates staffing of adjunct positions.
In consultation with directors, teaching faculty and the administrative staff, proposes the implementation, modification or deactivation of courses and programs of study.
Evaluates directors and/or teaching faculty and other staff members and makes recommendations to the Provost regarding the appointment, reappointment, promotion, and termination thereof.
Coordinates the evaluation of area curricula and facilitates program assessment. Facilitates new program development opportunities.
Supervises other program efforts sponsored by the area (e.g., advisory committee meetings and program site visits).
Develops annual goals and activities in coordination with faculty, directors, and other administrative areas. Monitors and reports on goal attainment using data.
Evaluates and approves ACE (Accelerated College Enrollment) faculty and courses in cooperation with program faculty and directors.
Proposes annual budget requests for the area and administers approved budgets.
Supervises the use, maintenance, and inventory of all equipment assigned to the area.
Contributes to the supervision of and collaboration with area staff in carrying out grant activities, including serving as the Grant Co-director for the college's Perkins grant.
Supervises and facilitates program accreditation efforts. Participates and provides leadership on college accreditation efforts.
Serves on the Provost's leadership team.
In collaboration with Academic Area Faculty and the Provost, contribute to the research and development of new academic programs.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Provost related to area of responsibility.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
The successful candidate will possess a terminal degree in an academic discipline represented in the areas of business, allied health careers, technical education, or educational administration.
Experience
A minimum of three years of full-time teaching experience in postsecondary education. At least two years of experience in program administration at the department level, or supervisory experience in a comparable capacity. Experience with implementing distance learning instructional options, and the ability to communicate the complexities of information technology and its impact on curriculum is desired.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
The successful candidate will have proven leadership skills, background and/or training in instructional evaluation, excellent communication skills, a vision for the future, and an ability to effectively work to deadlines within a team-based environment. Must be able to demonstrate sensitivity to people with diverse backgrounds.

SALARY AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
This is a 12-month, managerial/confidential position at 35 hours per week. Compensation is a minimum of $108,283.70 annually. The salary for this position is based upon educational credentials, training, and prior experience.
