GENERAL FUNCTIONS:
Primarily teach first and second-year courses in the accounting career and transfer program areas. As needed, teach business courses in the career and transfer program areas. Contribute to the development, review, assessment, and maintenance of high-quality accounting and business programs. Assist in recruitment, retention, advisement, and graduation of students. Participate actively in the academic life of the college.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Primarily teach first and second-year courses in the accounting career and transfer program areas. As needed, teach business courses in the career and transfer program areas. Teaching may involve face-to-face or using remote, online, hybrid, or hyflex modalities during the day, evening, and/or weekends as needed.
Actively participate in course assessment activities to assess student learning including calculation of grades and reporting of attendance as required by the college.
Contribute to the development, review, and update of high-quality accounting and business programs, working closely with other accounting and business faculty.
Assist in recruitment, retention, advisement, and graduation of students.
Participate in college service-related activities and committees.
Participate in professional development activities.
Job Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
(1) Master's Degree in Accounting or (2) Master's Degree in Business or business-related field WITH a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
Experience
A minimum of five years of accounting experience is required. CPA is highly preferred. Community college teaching or trainer experience is preferred. Familiarity with computer-assisted/multimedia instruction and distance learning (such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Brightspace) is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong teaching or training skills with familiarity in a wide range of instructional strategies and a commitment to student and retention-centered modes of instruction. Preparation to teach online preferred. Must be able to demonstrate a sensitivity to diverse individuals and a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion. Demonstrated ability to interact and communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and the community.

Additional Information:
SALARY AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
This is a full-time position at 35 hours per week. Fall classes begin in August 2025. This position will require an in person, on campus presence and is not remote. Compensation is at a rate of $50,865.19 annually. Salary, benefits, and conditions of employment are as set by the GEA contract.
