SALARY : $21.93 / hour

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Currently a Certified Police Officer in the State of Michigan, or able to be certified, having successfully completed MLEOTC training.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES : Performs professional police duties while providing security at the Genesee County courts

STATEMENT OF TASKS :

Arrests individuals with outstanding warrants;
Arrests individuals who are remanded during a court proceeding;
Provide security at the entrance to the court, as well as within the courtroom while court is in session;
Prepares and completes reports as directed.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES :

Ability to make decisions under adverse conditions in accordance with departmental policies and procedures;

Ability to communicate with the Court and the public;

Ability to physically make arrests and to protect the public and self in the face of dangerous situations;

Ability to complete necessary reports;

Ability to report for work timely and regularly.

Ability to work independently, collaboratively, and respectfully in a complex, multicultural work environment that values diversity, equity and inclusion.
