QUALITY ASSURANCE TECHNICIAN
Reports to: Quality Manager
Overview
Quality-driven professional responsible for performing part inspections and producing certification packages in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment. The candidate in this role will be responsible for performing and documenting part inspections on machined, blanked, formed, cast, welded, and assembled product. This involves the interpretation of mechanical prints (GD&T) and use of standard and automated shop metrology equipment (caliper/micrometer, height gauge, pin/thread gages, laser scanner, optical comparator, Hexagon CMM).
The candidate in this role will serve as the primary gatekeeper for the final product on our shipping dock, ensuring compliance to all customer requirements through final inspections and preparation of cert packages.
Responsibilities
· Inspect/Measure first-article parts, in-process, and final-stage product.
· Investigate the root cause of non-conforming/defective products.
· Review customer prints and generate 100% inspection plans.
· Work across teams to develop robust in-process inspection plans.
· Receiving inspection activities as needed.
· Compile cert packages for customer consumption.
· Perform instrument calibrations and manage calibration database.
· Any and all duties assigned by the immediate supervisor that are required to satisfy customer requirements.
Qualifications
· 3 years in manufacturing quality, or 5 years in direct manufacturing role(s).
· Ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
· Strong attention to detail.
· Competent mechanical blueprint reading and GD&T application.
· Ability to develop, analyze, articulate, and present technical information in both written and verbal forms.
· CMM programming/debugging experience is a major plus.
Compensation & Benefits
· Hourly position – $22.00 - $25.00 per hour / 40 hours per week
· 80 Hours of PTO year 1, 120 hours of PTO year 2
