Job Summary
The Genesee Valley Club is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This role requires proficiency in accounting software and a solid understanding of financial concepts to support the overall financial health of the Club.
Title: Bookkeeper
Reports to: Controller
Primary Objective: To maintain accounts receivable/accounts payable accounts in a timely and accurate manner and provide general office clerical support for the Controller.
General Responsibilities:
To keep the accounts receivable/accounts payable updated daily as to both charges and payments on account.
To keep the office records organized in an efficient manner.
To assist the Controller in order that monthly and annual statements, as well as special project work, may be completed in an efficient and expedient manner.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Posts charges to accounts on a daily basis.
- Communicates to the Controller as to the status of receivables, specifically with regard to open chits.
- Prepares and mails member statements and special billings.
- Receives, reconciles and posts payments on account.
- Prepares daily bank deposit.
- Respond to inquiries from members related to billing
- Enter accounts payable information into the open payables as requested.
- Place postage on all club mailings.
- Perform miscellaneous office responsibilities as requested.
- To administer the billing of accounts receivable including posting dues and finance charges, and processing the billing
Knowledge and Experience:
- Previous experience in accounts receivable, bookkeeping, or financial administration required.
- Strong customer service skills and ability to engage professionally with club members.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to multi-task and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in a private club, hospitality, or service-based industry is preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.50 - $24.50 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
