SUMMARY :
The Engineering Intern position will assist in efforts to prepare engineering data for multiple projects that the company is embarking on. This includes, but is not limited to, the development of drawings and calculations for new railroad bridges, structural and track standard creation, High-Wide and Heavy repository, public project agreement routing, and invoicing for Section 130 projects. The internship is part-time (20-25 hours per week) during the semester and paid at a rate of $15.00 hourly.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Perform calculations and develop drawings for new bridge projects.
- Update bridge and track standards; includes developing calculations and researching best practices to create standards that can be used across our network.
- Work with Public Project manager to route agreement, research potential projects, and ensure billing / invoicing.
- Work with structural team on miscellaneous structural projects.
- Report to supervisor on the progress of the tasks being performed.
