Job Description
As a seasoned professional, you will lead and direct employees under regional responsibility to ensure proper maintenance of equipment. Your expertise will be essential in developing and facilitating safety, training, and mentoring of all regional mechanical employees under your jurisdiction.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and ensure compliance with all railroad rules and regulations for safety, operations, and the Federal Railroad Administration.
- Promote, maintain, and audit G&W safety policies; maintain records pertaining to employee safety, safety training, accidents, injuries, and G&W directives.
- Ensure equipment maintenance, repair, and periodic maintenance cycles are completed properly and in a timely manner by all regional Mechanical Department employees.
- Comply with all OSHA, FRA, AAR, and G&W maintenance standards and associated requirements for record retention.
Requirements
- Must have a thorough working knowledge of all FRA and AAR rules and regulations pertaining to equipment safety, maintenance, and inspection.
- Ten years of experience in the field is preferred.
- Knowledge of all aspects of the maintenance and repair of locomotives' mechanical and electrical systems is necessary.
- Able to manage and supervise hourly and salaried employees effectively.
