Plant Engineer

Overview

The Plant Engineer plays a crucial role in overseeing the operations and maintenance of the plant facility. They are responsible for ensuring the efficient functioning of all machinery, equipment, and systems within the plant, ultimately contributing to the organization's overall operational success and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement maintenance, repair, and improvement projects for plant equipment and infrastructure.
• Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum productivity.
• Develop and maintain preventative maintenance schedules and procedures for all plant machinery and systems.
• Conduct regular inspections to assess the condition of equipment and facilities, addressing any issues promptly.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize plant processes and address technical challenges.
• Manage and oversee the installation and commissioning of new equipment and machinery.
• Ensure compliance with relevant safety regulations and environmental standards.
• Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized maintenance and repairs.
• Conduct cost analyses to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve plant efficiency.
• Participate in the development and implementation of capital improvement projects.
• Provide technical support and training to maintenance and operations teams.
• Monitor and report on key performance indicators related to plant operations and maintenance.
• Contribute to the development of plant engineering strategies and initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in plant engineering or maintenance management.
• Demonstrated expertise in project management and execution.
• Proven track record in developing and implementing preventative maintenance programs.
• Advanced knowledge of industrial machinery, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Familiarity with maintenance planning software and CMMS systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Understanding of relevant safety and environmental regulations.
• Experience in budgeting and cost control for engineering projects.
