JOB SUMMARY:
Genesis Consulting has an immediate opportunity for an experienced, forward-thinking Azure DevOps Coach to lead the implementation and rollout of Azure DevOps (ADO) tools for a state agency. Join our team and help our clients utilize modern, open-source technologies to develop, deliver and support applications while leveraging concepts of Lean, Agile, Kanban and SAFe. This role will be responsible for strategizing, implementing, and coaching teams on ADO best practices to ensure long-term adoption and success. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Azure DevOps, Agile Methodologies, and stakeholder engagement to support the agency’s digital transformation initiatives.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop an Azure DevOps implementation strategy and timeline aligned with business requirements and deliverables.
• Establish Azure DevOps Boards for each section within the division team to facilitate project tracking and workflow management.
• Collaborate with agency staff to define initial tasks in ADO and ensure alignment with section-specific needs.
• Design and implement custom queries and dashboards tailored to section managers’ business requirements for efficient performance tracking.
• Identify, recommend, and coordinate role-based training programs for management, expert users, and champions to drive ADO adoption.
• Coach Product Owners for teams on ADO best practices based on team maturity levels.
• Develop and maintain a 1-year and 2-year roadmap for continuous training, coaching, and Azure DevOps adoption strategies.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
• Proven experience in Azure DevOps implementation, administration, and best practices, ideally within a government setting.
• Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum, and Kanban methodologies within an enterprise environment.
• Experience in project management and process optimization using Azure DevOps.
• Ability to create and customize ADO Boards, queries, and dashboards for various business units.
• Expertise in training and coaching teams with varying levels of ADO proficiency.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, particularly in a government or large enterprise setting.
• Experience in change management and long-term adoption planning for DevOps tools.
MINIMUM EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology Management or Engineering.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS:
Agile, Scrum, SAFe, and / or Microsoft Azure Certifications (Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, Azure Administrator Associate) preferred.
OTHER:
• Must be authorized to work in the US.
• Must be able to be onsite in Lansing, MI ~50%.
