Genesis Consulting has an immediate opportunity for an experienced Financial Business Analyst with a strong focus on process improvement and data quality management for a Federal client in the Washington DC area. The Financial Business Analyst will be responsible for gathering, analyzing, and documenting business requirements and translating them into functional specifications. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills and the ability to work with key stakeholders to achieve project objectives. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in streamlining processes, managing data workflows, and ensuring the requirements of financial analyses are met.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Collaborate with Client teams to gather and document business requirements, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
• Assist in verifying and validating financial models, data, charts, and related documentation to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Work closely with technical teams to translate business requirements into functional specifications and identify areas for process improvement.
• Develop and recommend standard operating procedures and best practices for data management and reporting.
• Conduct quality control reviews of financial monitoring products and reports, ensuring compliance with established standards and practices.
• Facilitate process mapping and workflow design to identify inefficiencies and improve business operations.
• Engage with stakeholders to ensure user acceptance testing (UAT) is aligned with business requirements and expectations.
• Prepare documentation for training and knowledge transfer to ensure continuity and competency in business processes.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in a financial or governmental setting.
• Proven experience in gathering and documenting business requirements and translating them into functional specifications.
• Strong understanding of financial data standards and processes, particularly in capital markets.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools and methodologies, including SQL, Excel, and relevant data visualization tools.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects effectively under tight deadlines.
MINIMUM EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Data Science, Information Technology, or another related field.
OTHER:
Ability and willingness to obtain security clearance.
