Genesis has an opportunity to work on one of the largest and most technologically advanced cloud, agile, and product development projects within the federal contracting space. This $300M contract encompasses agile transformation and integrating dozens of mission critical applications operating in a public AWS GovCloud that is managed with a hyper-converged datacenter and is protected by a world class active cyber defense solution.Duties and Responsibilities : The Technical Writer, will create, edit, and organize highly technical information and turn it into meaningful value-driven outputs for internal and external audiences. The Technical Writer will be primarily responsible for developing, supporting, and maintaining, procedural, and technical documentation. This role involves tasks such as writing conceptual overviews and procedures, technical documentation for software development, and user manuals. Update documentation with a guiding principle to communicate complex information clearly, concisely, and accurately without using jargon.Write a variety of technical documents; design specifications, diagrams, manuals (system and end users) white papers, flow chats, reports, and / or manualsConsume raw technical details provided by the various SME's and construct appropriate documentation to the detail and level required by the document consumersCoordinate the display of graphics and the production of the documentEnsure content is of high quality and conforms with standards for technical accuracy, grammar, punctuation, readability, and document formattingProduce and update documentation on product features including user manuals, operations guides, flow diagrams, scripts, strategy and policy documents, and standard operating proceduresWrite new content in the style that is most suitable for each target audienceEdit copy for voice, tone, and accuracyMap out frameworks and methodologies that are easy to understandManage and refine existing content in need of refresh and / or revampPartner with the team members to inventory, organize, and publish content into our content management tools and knowledge basesReview content analytics to understand customer impact and inform future content creation decisionsConduct quality assurance reviews and implement revisions to in-app textWork collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of all documentation and other deliverables for each release.Understand the complexities of our product / technology so you can clearly communicate how it works and why it matters.RequirementsMinimum Qualifications / Experience : 3 years of experience as a Technical Writer3 years' experience in technical communication, which includes but is not limited to technical writing, software specification writing, instructional design, technical editing, copyediting or proofreading, quality assurance, and user experience designAbility to translate jargon into plain English, in a concise manner, for non-technical end-usersAbility to logically categorize new information into existing taxonomies and consider how new information impacts existing informationFamiliar with the documentation lifecycle and corresponding quality assurance reviewsExperience with gathering feedback and measuring success in documentation efforts (e.g., usage analytics, real-time critical feedback, gathering business feedback, etc.)Experience developing and maintaining information architectures for technical documentation, including Knowledge Management or CMS systemsProficiency in MS Office products.Ability to make sound writing decisions with little input from supervisors.Ability to work independently and within a team environment.Ability to communicate effectively throughout all levels within an organization.Minimum Education : Bachelor's Degree AND 3 years' experience working with developers, testers, analysts, and other subject matter experts (SME) to create, assimilate, develop, and convey technical material in a concise and effective manner for the application documentation support activitiesRequired Certifications : PMP, CSM, ITIL, and / or SAFe (Certification would be a plus)Other : Must be US CitizenWillingness to be on-site in New Carrollton (Lanham), MarylandWillingness to travel and / or telecommute on occasion depending on customer needs
