Application Architect

Genesis10 is currently seeking an Application Architect with our client in the financial industry located in Jersey City, NJ. This is a 12 month contract position.Responsibilities : Develop, institute, socialize and govern architecture strategies / blueprints and related frameworksEngage in architecting and design comprehensive end-to-end solutions that meet business requirements in support of a given portfolio of work and support the authoring of high-level designs when requiredCreate and maintain domain architecture strategies, blueprint and roadmaps showing the evolution of systems from current to target state to meet strategic business, financial and technology objectives through documentation of systems, architectures, process flows and value-chain modelsParticipate in architecture consulting to enable design decisions, lead design sessions where appropriate, manage design tradeoffs between speed to market, financial and strategic impact, and support the successful implementation of initiativesAct as a control function to ensure adherence of designs to blueprints, architectural principles and enterprise standardsSupport the compliance of designs to all relevant local laws and regulationsIdentify risks to quickly resolve issues and conflicting priorities and influence a positive and effective outcomeLeverage technical expertise to support vendor selection activities including recommendations of when to make the appropriate build vs. buy decisionsSupport the development of prototypes and proof-of-concepts to validate designsContribute to creation and evolution of architectural patterns, principles and guidelinesSupport the execution of the architecture governance boardProvide inputs to annual financial planning & other related activitiesProviding a senior communication channel across multiple functional domainsManage senior stakeholder expectations and build trust relationshipsProvide strategic vision based on balanced Risk, Financial, Process, and Resource factorsInterpret business needs and promoting innovative technology solutionsUnderstand and empathize with the key challenges faced by sponsors and stakeholdersSupport governance and oversight processes for managing alignment of change to strategic goalsTranslate complex concepts into multiple architectural "views aimed at varying audiencesWork effectively in a matrix organization with teams of architects, developers and business partners with minimal supervisionExpress ideas verbally and in writing to effectively communicate with and influence teammates, technology partners, business leaders and executivesResolve and influence the positive outcome of conflicting objectives and prioritiesWork effectively within a fast-paced, cohesive teamRequirements : BSc-level degree in computer science or equivalent experience in industryCertification or extensive experience in industry best practices in architectural methodologies and standards (e.g. UML, BPMN)Experience with enterprise-level technology strategy in an architecture organizationExperience of Financial Services specifically within markets in either Trading or Post Trade candidate will be expected to demonstrate knowledge of the complete trade and contract lifecycleApplication development knowledge and experience (Enterprise Applications, distributed services, design, analysis)Architecture, quality & productivity methodologies (e.g. Six Sigma)Modern application development and deployment (Automated Testing, Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery)Broad based IT knowledge (hardware, software, middleware, databases, cloud)Deep knowledge of Financial Services preferably within marketsLeadership, Communication and Relationship SkillsStrong, proactive leadership capabilities inspiring fellowshipAble to stimulate and participate in creative thinking for out-of-the-box solutionsAble to effectively communicate, interact with and influenceLearn fast and adapt quickly to changeExcellent written (technical) and verbal communicationPay Range : $63.68 - $71.68Only candidates available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position.If you have the described qualifications and are interested in this exciting opportunity, please apply!About Genesis10 : Ranked a Top Staffing Firm in the U.S. by Staffing Industry Analysts for six consecutive years, Genesis10 puts thousands of consultants and employees to work across the United States every year in contract, contract-for-hire, and permanent placement roles.
