What are the responsibilities and job description for the Food Plot Specialist - custom installer position at Genesis Custom Food Plots?
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated food plot specialist to work within WI to plant and manage food plot installations across WI. Candidate will have a strong desire to work in the outdoor and hunting industry. This position is paid year round, however, hours are heavily skewed toward the summer growing season. You will have significant time off in the fall and winter, but hours during the planting seasons can be long and unpredictable.
Duties
- Plot Installation and field work—report to Plot Installation Manager and Shop and Equipment manager:
- Food plot preparation and planting, according to plan
- Dozer and excavator operation as assigned
- Equipment maintenance and repair:
- Keep inventory of food plot materials (seed, fertilizer, chemical, fuel) used by you on a job and report totals to Plot Installation Manager
- Communicate with customers as instructed or as needed
- Completion of tracking or routing reports as needed or specified
- Other land management duties to be determined based on need, time, and customer request
- All equipment—food plotting and farm-related—is to be serviced annually and maintained as needed. All records to be updated to reflect what was done
- Each truck is to be stocked with items on its respective checklist at all times
- Maintenance truck is to be stocked with repair items (bearings, bolts, electrical items, etc.) that may be needed on route
- Submit all documentation necessary to complete invoicing within 5 days of job completion
- Keep a working inventory of shop and food plot route items at all times (oil, bearings, straps, etc.)
- Shop and shed:
- All items put in their places
- Work areas cleaned or cleared at the end of each work day unless the project warrants otherwise
- Maintain building’s order (bags, oil pails, etc.)
- Equipment parked orderly
- Assist in these duties:
- gathering of needed materials per job (seed, fertilizer, chemical, fuel, etc)
- Preparation of all trucks prior to run (loaded with necessary materials and gear per plan)
- Help to set up route books prior to spring and fall runs
- Submit all documentation necessary to complete invoicing within 5 days of job completion
- Routine maintenance of dozer and excavator including maintaining fluid levels, greasing and notifying equipment manager of needed repairs.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Class A CDL preferred but will provide company paid training for the right candidate
- Previous farm or heavy equipment experience preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
