POSITION SUMMARY

Under general supervision of the Behavioral Health Director; the Psychotherapist Lead implements and evaluates the behavioral health practice delivery model in accordance with the goals of the Corporation.  The Psychotherapist Lead shares in the administrative functions that directly impacts the provision of behavioral health services.  The Psychotherapist Lead provides individual and group psychotherapy.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Patient Care

1. Provides direct patient care within the clinic as scheduled and determined by the Behavioral Health Director.
2. Maintain the minimum number of patient contact outlined by Behavioral Health Director.
3. Provide the highest level of care to patients including the use of accepted behavioral health practices and latest treatment modalities.
4. Participate in inter-disciplinarian meetings.
5. Utilize community referral sources as needed by patient needs. 
6. Maintains patient records as required to provide high quality and continuous care and as required by state and federal regulations.
7. Maintains billing information required to secure reimbursements for provision of services. 
8. If applicable, provide behavioral health interpretation services for non-Spanish speaking providers (only applicable if formal translator has not been established).

1. Demonstrates knowledge of DSM5 criteria and appropriate intervention for each entity.
2. Providing clinic site stats for Behavioral Health Director
3. Establish and participate in Peer Education/ In-service program
4. Review and monitor Behavioral Health Care Coordinators time and attendance for accuracy.
5. Maintain clinic’s behavioral health schedule.
6. Performs other duties as assigned by Behavioral Health Director. 

Operational Excellence

• Communicates to patients and external providers in a timely and accurate manner.
• Maintain current patient instructional and health education materials for use with patients receiving care as deemed necessary in accordance with GFH referral services.
• Maintain accurate and complete records of case management activities.
• Maintain high standard of patient confidentiality.

Relationships

• Coordinate services between GFH and local inpatient hospitals, ED, rehab facilities, behavioral health clinics, or other supportive and transitional community services.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education

• Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, and/or Counseling Field
• Current license with the Behavioral Science Regulatory Board as an LMSW, LSCSW, LPC, LCPC
• Current license with the Behavioral Science Regulatory Board as an LAC, LMAC, or LCAC
• Current or ability to obtain licensure as an independent clinical provider in the state of Kansas.
• Current CPR Certification

Experience

• Experience in outreach and inter-agency referral services preferred.
• Two years of experience as a behavioral health staff within a mental health facility or medical facility
• Knowledge regarding community support services preferable.
• Knowledge of mental health and substance use disorders
• Must have strong working knowledge of computers, ability to learn office Electronic Medical Records software and related tools.

Physical/Environmental

• Work may involve exposure to unusual elements such as extreme temperatures, unpleasant odor and/or loud noises.
• Moderate physical activity. Requires handling average-weight objects up to 15-20 pounds.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to maintain sufficient visual acuity to read and write.
• Position requires sufficient hearing level to effectively communicate with people directly or by telephone.
• Will work with blood or blood-borne pathogens and will require OSHA training.
• Work environment involves exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations that require following extensive safety precautions and may include the use of protective equipment.
• Willingness to travel.

Additional Requirements

• Moderate physical activity. Requires handling average-weight objects up to 15-20 pounds, assisting with patients and standing and/or walking for most of the day.
• Work involves considerable exposure to unusual elements such as extreme temperatures, unpleasant odor and/or loud noises.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to maintain sufficient visual acuity to read, write and operate equipment.
• All other duties as assigned.
