What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Electrician position at Genesis Global Group?
Job Summary : Maintenance Electrician ensures that all electrical systems, wiring and equipment remain functional. Oversee the installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical systems in production and business areas and determine if existing equipment needs to be upgraded or replaced. Has the ability to multi-task while working in a fast-paced environment to keep the company operational.
Essential Functions :
- Ensure that all electrical repairs, be it routine or emergency related is completed in a safe manner and that the proper safety measures are followed and adhered to at all times
- Inspect on a routine basis electrical equipment, wiring, fixtures and other components to ensure they remain functional and are up to code, as well as to identify any hazards or issues.
- Ensure all routine maintenance work is handled on a regular schedule to reduce the risk of larger and more complex issues and to reduce costs.
- Determine the reasons for any malfunctions of systems or components and create a repair plan to solve the problem.
- Repair electrical systems, wiring, circuit breakers, equipment and other components so that they remain at full functioning capacity.
- Run and terminate data cabling and other low voltage components from start to finish to test and connect computers, phones, cctv camera systems and or other types of equipment
- Test systems with devices such as voltmeters and ohmmeters to ensure the system remains safe and that components are compatible.
- Review blueprints to understand the placement of wiring or to comprehend the working of the equipment to provide the right service and repairs.
- Provide suggestions on the lifespan of equipment and other electrical components, advising when certain components should be replaced due to potential risks.
- Keep records of all maintenance and repair work conducted, including a record of any supplies ordered and used on a phone app.
- Assist with equipment change overs, repairs to electrical components on other mechanical type equipment, investigate problems on equipment, and other duties as needed.
- Communicates with coworkers, management and clients.
- Represents the company in a positive light to all clients, both internal and external.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by company President, Vice President, Sr. Project Manager of Construction & Operations as well as other company management.
