Position Overview
The Assistant Camp Director plays a pivotal role in ensuring a smooth, fun, and enriching camp experience for the camp community and team. Working closely with the Camp Director, you'll help oversee daily operations, support the camp staff, and create an atmosphere where kids thrive.
Responsibilities Include:
- Assisting in the planning and implementation of daily camp activities based on weekly themes
- Supervising and supporting camp counselors to ensure a safe, fun, and organized environment
- Ensuring safety protocols and guidelines are followed
- Promoting and reinforcing camp values such as confidence, creativity, and teamwork
- Communicating with campers and parents as needed to ensure a positive experience
- Leading by example to inspire and guide campers and staff alike
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Availability for all pre-season training and the full camp season (June 2nd - August 13th)
- A degree in a child-related field or 2 years of verifiable experience in a similar role preferred
- A passion for working with children and helping them grow into mighty individuals
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Creative, organized, and flexible in a fast-paced, active environment
- An energetic, enthusiastic attitude with a sense of humor and a love for fun!
