Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic After School Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children, creativity in planning activities, and the ability to foster a positive and inclusive environment. This role involves supervising students, facilitating educational and recreational activities, and providing support to help children succeed in their after-school experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and ensure the safety of students during after school hours.
- Plan and implement engaging activities that promote academic enrichment, creativity, and social development.
- Assist students with homework and provide individualized support as needed.
- Foster positive relationships with students, families, and staff to create a sense of community.
- Encourage positive behavior and conflict resolution among students.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding their child's progress and any concerns.
- Maintain an organized and clean classroom environment.
- Collaborate with other educators and staff to develop a cohesive after school program.
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities as required.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required; Associate's Degree or higher in Education, Child Development, or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Patience, creativity, and a genuine passion for working with young children.
- Knowledge of child development principles and best practices in early childhood education.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in planning and implementing educational programs or activities for school-aged children.
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Familiarity with state licensing requirements and regulations for after school programs.
