Position Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Transition Coach to support our Summer Transition Program for GA Pre-K. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, a background in working with families, and a commitment to helping children succeed in their early education. This role involves collaborating with children, families, and educators to ensure a seamless transition into the school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized support to children and families during the transition process to Pre-K.
- Facilitate workshops and informational sessions for parents to help them understand the Pre-K program and their child's needs.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to create a welcoming and supportive environment for children.
- Assess children's readiness for school and identify areas for growth and support.
- Develop and implement engaging activities that promote social, emotional, and cognitive development.
- Establish strong relationships with families, offering guidance and resources as needed.
- Maintain clear communication with families regarding their child's progress and any concerns.
- Document and track children's development and participation in the program.
- Ensure compliance with all program policies and state regulations.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of an Associate's Degree in any field.
- Experience working with families, preferably in an educational or childcare setting.
- Strong understanding of early childhood development and the transition process to school.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with families and children.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team of educators and staff.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting young children and their families.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in early childhood education or related field.
- Familiarity with Georgia Pre-K standards and curriculum.
- Knowledge of community resources available to families.
