Genesis currently offers an excellent opportunity for a Workers Compensation Claims Associate based in our Chicago office. This is a hybrid role with 2 days a week in the office a week.
Role Description
The Claims Associate is responsible for handling claims from inception to closure in accordance with the Company’s and the Industry’s best claims practices.
Responsibilities:
• The Claims Associate will be responsible for providing technical claim handling, including adept recognition of exposure, reserve adjustment, identification and resolution of coverage issues, and overall loss mitigation.
• The Claims Associate handles all claims in a proactive manner by devising and executing an effective claim handling strategy.
• The Claims Associate prepares prompt, thorough, timely, and articulate reports and records.
• The Claims Associate adheres to the Company’s technical and administrative standards/guidelines and remains current on industry standards/guidelines and legal decisions that impact claim handling and exposures.
• The Claims Associate is expected to travel as necessary and as required by the Company.
Role Qualifications and Experience
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in insurance technical claim handling of lost time / indemnity / permanent disability workers’ compensation claims; multiple jurisdictions, carrier background preferred.
• Fluent in common medical terminology and complex medical conditions required.
• Versed in workers compensation litigation processes.
• Versed in full and final claim settlement, including MSA and related processes.
• Undergraduate college degree.
• Demonstrates competence in:
o Verbal and written communications;
o Time management;
o Claims judgement;
o Business acumen;
o Organizational skills;
o Interpersonal skills; and
o Analytical skills.
• Industry designations/course work a plus.
• Prior experience in handling Excess Insurance for Self-Insurer of Workers Compensation claims a plus.

Salary Range
63,000.00 - 106,000.00 USD
The annual base salary range posted represents a broad range of salaries around the US and is subject to many factors including but not limited to credentials, education, experience, geographic location, job responsibilities, performance, skills and/or training.
