What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Billing Specialist position at Genesis Orthopaedic and Spine?
Genesis Orthopaedic and Spine, a multi-specialty Orthopedic, Spine and Sports Medicine practice in West Orange, NJ, has an exciting opportunity to join our growing family and is seeking a full-time or part-time Medical Biller. Experience in Orthopedics, Spine, and/or Sports Medicine is a PLUS. Experience with eClinicalWorks EMR, Waystar clearinghouse and Jopari clearinghouse is a PLUS.
Experience: We prefer to have someone with extensive billing experience. Certification in coding and/or billing is a PLUS.
Job Description:
- Thorough knowledge of Medical Billing
- Aggressive pursuit of and recouping aging A/R
- Submission of claims electronically and by paper
- Submission and follow up on appeals
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology
- Posting daily revenue payments
- Ensure payments match our contracted rates or fee schedules
- Contact patients in regards to their balance
- Able to identify denial reasons and resolve issues
- Generate weekly reports as requested
- Handle patient billing calls and questions
- Additional duties as requested by manager
- Knowledge of insurance benefits
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
