Genesis Products is seeking a highly motivated Manufacturing Engineer Intern to join our operations team for the summer. This internship provides hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, allowing interns to apply engineering principles to real-world challenges. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the intern will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, engineering, and quality, to drive process improvements and enhance production efficiency.
This is an exciting opportunity for students looking to develop technical skills, gain leadership exposure, and contribute to meaningful projects that impact production, efficiency, and safety.
Key Responsibilities

Assist in the development and refinement of safe and efficient manufacturing processes, including production flow, assembly methods, and production equipment optimization.

Support maintenance and equipment purchasing activities, ensuring operational reliability.

Conduct cost-benefit analyses to evaluate tooling, equipment, and machinery investments.

Assist with facility and equipment maintenance planning, ensuring proper function and compliance with safety regulations.

Research, source, and justify tooling, machinery, and equipment purchases for improved manufacturing operations.

Participate in continuous improvement projects, using Lean Manufacturing principles to drive cost reduction, quality enhancement, and operational efficiency.

Collaborate with Quality Engineering to develop and implement robust quality control plans.

Perform work measurement analysis, utilizing time studies and predetermined motion time systems to optimize manufacturing processes.

Maintain accurate records and documentation through data entry and system maintenance, using Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
