Position Title: Clinical Supervisor

Employment Status: Full-Time

Classification: Exempt

Salary Range: Associate $75,000 - $90,000, Licensed $90,000 - $115,000

Supervisor: Program Director

Summary of Major Responsibilities:

The Clinical Supervisor serves as the central communication hub and supervisory lead for the complete clinical team at Genesis Recovery, encompassing intake coordinators, case managers, and counselors. This critical role requires a master's degree in a relevant field and registration or licensure with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. The Clinical Supervisor oversees all aspects of client care, ensuring each client receives an accurate diagnosis, comprehensive assessments, and an integrated, individualized treatment plan.


Detailed Duty Statement:

  • Provide clinical supervision and direction to intake coordinators, case managers, and counselors to ensure cohesive and high-quality client care.
  • Review, approve, and sign off on client assessments, ensuring adherence to organizational standards and professional best practices.
  • Conduct diagnostic evaluations and formulate diagnoses for clients as part of their overall care plan.
  • Coordinate and oversee the entire client care process, including entry, treatment implementation, progress monitoring, and preparation for discharge.
  • Advocate for clients, ensuring their needs are met through continuous communication with clinical staff and other departments.
  • Maintain compliance with all legal, ethical, and regulatory standards, including those outlined by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
  • Facilitate interdisciplinary case conferences and staff meetings to promote effective collaboration and ensure continuity of client care.
  • Monitor and ensure clinical staff meet professional development and training requirements.
  • Coordinate with external agencies, services, and family members to support comprehensive client care.
  • Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives within the organization.
  • Document and report clinical activities and outcomes by organizational and regulatory requirements.
  • And other duties as requested.

Qualifications Needed:

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Active registration or licensure (LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, or equivalent) with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
  • A minimum of two years of clinical supervisory experience, preferably in a behavioral health or substance use disorder treatment setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of the ASAM criteria and experience in case formulation, treatment planning, and diagnosis.
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to manage a multi-disciplinary team and facilitate collaboration.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the continuum of care for addiction recovery and the ability to integrate diverse therapeutic modalities and services.
  • Proficient in clinical documentation with an emphasis on accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with health information privacy laws such as HIPAA.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and staff.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ethical practice and adherence to the professional code of conduct.
  • Experience in program development and quality assurance with the ability to implement evidence-based practices and outcome-driven treatment protocols.
  • Proven organizational skills with the capacity to prioritize tasks and manage a large caseload effectively.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to respond to changing clinical needs and operational demands.
  • Proficient with electronic health records, data management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Current knowledge and understanding of applicable federal and state regulations and standards relevant to behavioral health services.

The role demands clinical expertise, leadership, and a passion for service. By overseeing and integrating the various facets of treatment, the Clinical Supervisor enhances the efficacy of the clinical team’s efforts, thus significantly contributing to Genesis Recovery's high standards of care and the overall success of the clients we serve.
