We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our maternity practice in Howell, NJ. Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and check in patients, ensuring all paperwork is completed and accurate.
- Assist healthcare providers with prenatal, postnatal, and gynecological examinations.
- Prepare exam rooms for patient visits, ensuring all necessary supplies and equipment are available and sterilized.
- Take and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, and weight.
- Collect and process laboratory specimens as needed.
- Provide patient education on prenatal care, postpartum recovery, and other maternity-related health topics.
- Manage patient medical records and ensure accurate data entry into the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Schedule follow-up appointments and assist with patient inquiries.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as answering phones, filing, and coordinating patient referrals.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment in compliance with health and safety standards.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; Medical Assistant certification is a plus.
- Previous experience in maternity or women’s health practice is preferred but not required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate demeanor.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask efficiently.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and medical office software.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
