Job Summary :
Our client, a leading player in the construction insurance industry, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Casualty Construction Underwriting Manager to manage and grow a $25M book of business in Atlanta. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Workers' Compensation (WC), which is a significant driver of their business. This role involves handling your own book of business while managing a team of three Underwriters and one Underwriting Assistant.
Key Responsibilities :
- Manage and Grow a Book of Business : Oversee and expand a $25M book of business with a focus on General Liability (GL), Workers' Compensation (WC), and Auto insurance. Handle accounts with a minimum premium of $400k, with a particular focus on accounts in the $1M range.
- Team Leadership : Manage and mentor a team consisting of two Underwriters and one Underwriting Assistant, providing guidance and support to ensure the team's success.
- Market Relationships : Develop and maintain strong relationships with key players in the Atlanta construction insurance market, including major brokers such as MMA, Aon, Hub, Willis, and Lockton
- Strategic Growth : Collaborate with the team to expand within the large accounts construction space, with a particular emphasis on General Contractors (GC) and Large Subcontractors (LS) accounts.
- Underwriting Excellence : Ensure underwriting quality and profitability by adhering to company guidelines and industry best practices, particularly in the Workers' Compensation segment.
- Autonomy and Authority : Leverage your autonomy and authority to shape the construction insurance landscape for our client in the region, making strategic decisions that drive growth and profitability.
