Mechanical Engineer Startup Lead

Job Description
5-9 Years of related experience in engineering design, Liquefaction natural gas Plant Startup, and/or Maintenance experience or 4 - year degree in engineering or related curriculum.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Abide by all safety rules and help establish and maintain a culture focused on safety.
- Assist in the planning for proper sequence and schedule of startup activities to ensure completion within schedule and budget requirements.
- Perform project startup and commissioning activities as directed by the Site Startup Manager.
- Develop and manage project Startup budgets and schedules as directed by the Site Startup Manager.
- Accurately document startup and commissioning results including punch list development.
- Develop Startup Turnover Packages.
- Develop and Support implementation of owner Startup procedures on project. Ensure that the quality requirements of the applicable plans, specifications and standards are met. Identify installation problems, assist in developing solutions, and ensure corrective actions are taken by the craft, contractor or vendor in accordance with an approved plan.
SKILL SETS & EXPERTISE:
- Self-starter, proactive with effective communication skills.
- Adequate knowledge of OSHA and applicable environmental regulations. Adequate knowledge of fossil power plants and major equipment/systems design and operation.
- Adequate knowledge applicable codes and regulations for pressurized piping and vessels.
- Adequate knowledge of LOTO procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and operations manuals.
- Ability to communicate/interact with employees across all management levels. Ability to build effective relationships with plant staff, engineering and design staff and vendors.
- Ability to manage time properly and handle multiple assignments simultaneously. Ability to plan and organize project Startup activities in a team building environment.
- Capacity to identify opportunities to improve an organization through process improvement.
- Ability to read and interpret P6 schedules.
