What are the responsibilities and job description for the Network Engineer position at GENESYS Consulting Services?
Responsibilities : Troubleshooting, configuring, and remote deployment of routers, switches, and firewalls, as well as wireless technologies such as access points, cloud keys, and wireless controllers.
- Escalation points to L1 help desk engineers
- Trouble tickets and opportunity tickets / requests
- Stage and configure devices
- Configure monitoring tools
- Respond to and resolve escalated network incidents and service requests.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement solutions to prevent recurrence.
- Troubleshoot complex network issues, including routing, switching, and firewall-related problems.
- Monitor network performance and ensure system availability and reliability for client networks.
- Troubleshoot network problems and outages, schedule upgrades, and collaborate with network architects on network optimization for clients.
- Perform network maintenance and system upgrades, including service packs, patches, hotfixes, and security configurations for client networks.
- Monitor client network performance and test for weaknesses.
- Provide escalated support and troubleshooting to resolve client issues.
- Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.
