Genetec is a market leader and innovative technology company with a broad solutions portfolio that encompasses security, intelligence, and operations. We are looking for a Marketing Events Manager, North America to join our high performing regional marketing team, reporting to the Sr. Manager, Marketing Events and working closely with the Corporate Events Team based in Montreal. This role is responsible for executing high-impact Tier 1 conferences, user events, and trade shows across North America. Your mission will be to amplify the Genetec brand across the region using event marketing tactics that will ignite a flood of qualified leads straight into our sales team's pipeline!

What your day will look like:

  • Plan and execute to budget a high impact, large-scale event program in Genetec’s largest sales region, North America 
  • Closely plan, manage, and track a significant sized budget and portfolio of partner agencies and vendors 
  • Manage all elements of the events program including staffing, logistics, operations, schedules, vendors/agencies, and production 
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with regional sales and marketing counterparts, the corporate events team, technology partners, and other business stakeholders  
  • Ensure on-brand presence at events and manage relationships and cost negotiation with booth contractors, suppliers and vendors  
  • Plan and manage, in tandem with sales and marketing stakeholders, all Tier 1 tradeshows and Genetec-hosted conferences; offer support for other events as required 
  • Coordinate and plan all elements of a variety of tradtional tradeshow and conference event formations, including tabletops and trade shows 
  • Ensure each event includes a comprehensive leads management strategy and execute related operational procedures to ensure ROI 
  • Support conference registration process and pre- and post-event communications 
  • Host pre-event planning sessions and post-event follow-up sessions with relevant stakeholders in-region and at HQ 
  • Gather, analyse and share event feedback. Ensure that the North American events presence supports the overall regional marketing strategy and goals, and adheres to corporate brand guidelines  
  • Work together with marketing stakeholders to plan and execute adjacent events programs such as sponsorships, speaking opportunities and partner events 
  • Frequent on site event support and associated travel will be required 

More about you:

  • 5 years marketing and/or events management experience
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or a related field 
  • Passionate about events, marketing, branding, and lead generation, with a focus on creating in-person programs that drive business results 
  • Strong experience managing budgets and tracking expenses, attention to detail a must 
  • Excellent communication skills, able to engage with all levels of stakeholders, customers, and external partners 
  • Able to work independently and collaborate effectively with others to achieve results 
  • Proven experience managing vendor and agency relationships to ensure event success 
  • Enjoys working in a collaborative, team-oriented matrixed organization 
  • Outstanding customer service skills for internal teams and peers 
  • Calm, confident, and organized with great attention to detail 
  • Comfortable in fast-paced environments and managing multiple events at once 
  • Open to feedback and able to adapt it to grow the event program strategically 
  • Enjoys traveling and being hands-on at events while also managing logistics behind the scenes 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and eager to learn new tools like CRM, data management, and event marketing platforms 
  • Must be willing to travel extensively, including international travel (up to 50%)
