Summary of Responsibilities: This position will perform the billing of student accounts, including building and testing the charge tables, running charges, and generating student bills. This position will also process student refunds, create miscellaneous invoices, and assist in the preparation of 1098-T tax forms. Additionally, this position will assist the accounting team with various accounting functions and serve as a backup for additional Business Office functions as needed.
Essential Responsibilities: (These essential responsibilities are those the individual must be able to perform unaided or with the assistance of reasonable accommodation.)
- Student Billing:
- Generate student charges and maintain charge tables.
- Run bi-weekly student bills.
- Process student refunds within the required timeframe.
- Create miscellaneous student invoices.
- Assist with 1098-T tax form preparation.
- Assist the Accounting Team with various functions, including:
- Prepare, review, and approve general ledger entries.
- Monitor general ledger activity and reconcile various accounts.
- Review, approve, and reconcile cash deposits.
- Cross Training and Backup:
- Serve as a backup for the Purchasing Coordinator.
- Serve as a backup for other Business Office functions as needed.
- Miscellaneous:
- Complete accounting research as requested by leadership.
- Attends department and organizational meetings.
- Special projects as requested.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Minimum:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- Experience: One to three years of experience in accounting (extensive internship experience will be considered).
- Skill/Abilities: Must be able to maintain a high level of accuracy, have a strong attention to detail, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and effectively meet deadlines. Must be able to maintain confidentiality regarding Business Office transactions. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite programs (Outlook, Teams, Excel, etc.).
- Christian Commitment: An eligible candidate must be a thoughtful and articulate Christian and an active member of a Protestant evangelical Christian church. Preference will be given to the candidate who supports and has an articulate understanding of the Reformed faith. An eligible candidate must understand and support the College’s “Foundational Concepts of Christian Education” by expressing an evangelical Christian profession of faith and demonstrate the ability to integrate a Christian perspective in their work.
- Preferred:
- Experience:
- More than three years of experience in accounting.
- Higher education or nonprofit accounting experience.
- Willingness to pursue additional accounting/financial management responsibilities as they develop professionally, with the opportunity to pursue an MBA.
- Experience:
