What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Informatics Nurse position at Geneva General Hospital?
Under the direction of the CNO, the Clinical Informatics Nurse, in collaboration with URM-FLH Information Services, integrates nursing science with information and analytical sciences to identify, define, manage and communicate data, information and knowledge in nursing practice. The CIN will apply knowledge of nursing and informatics to assist in the design, development, and ongoing modification of computerized health care systems. They may also educate staff and assist in problem solving to promote implementation of the health care system. The CIN assesses and provides information about new or improved workflows, guides new technology and process implementation, and assesses data quality, giving care teams the best chance of delivering optimal care.
na Requirements: EDUCATION: Minimum: • BSN Preferred: • Master's in Nursing Informatics or related field LICENSE: Minimum: • Current NYS RN License PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS: Preferred: • MNursing Informatics WORK EXPERIENCE: Minimum: • 3 years of Nursing Experience and 2 years Informatics experience, or • 1year Informatics experience with a MS degree in Nursing Informatics • Strong understanding of working in a clinical setting. • Possesses technical competency to assist in the design & development of high-quality Information Systems for Nursing Practice. Preferred: • Meditech and Epic background SKILLS: Minimum: • Strong communication and interpersonal skills • Analytical and problem-solving experience • Attention to detail and accuracy • Ability to multi-task and prioritize • Strong organizational and time management experience • Experience participating and/or leading process improvement groups Preferred: • Prior experience in nursing informatics
