Responsibility Summary:
The Nursing Assistant performs various patient care activities and related non-licensed assistant services necessary to address the personal need and comfort of patients in an environment that promotes dignity and healing. The Nursing Assistant provides care as directed for all age patient populations. The Nursing Assistant participates in unit activities as a team member, as assigned.
Requirements:Education:
Minimum: High School diploma or GED required.
Preferred: Post secondary education in health or human services
License/Certification:
Certifications: Must be a NYS Certified Nursing Assistant. BLS certification required through the RQI system during clinical orientation. CPI within one year of hire.
Experience:
Minimum: None
Preferred: customer service experience, physician office or health related
Skills:
Minimum:. Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and ability to deal with the public in a professional and courteous manner. Ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple priorities and enhance the spirit of teamwork through effective role modeling. Excellent interpersonal, communication and organization skills. Computer literacy
Preferred: Experience with Microsoft Office products and electronic medical record; BLS prior to hire
