Overview
Job Title: Sweeper Operator
Division: Equipment and Facilities
Supervisor: Equipment Superintendent
Job Summary: Under the direction of the Shop Supervisor, the Sweeper Operator is responsible for cleaning the pavement prior, during and after paving to ensure proper quality and housekeeping.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Visualize, fulfill, and implement the Clyde Companies Inc. (CCI) vision and core values within the Organization.
- Responsible for operation and repair practices on sweepers.
- Clean pavement prior to, during, and after paving to keep up with proper quality and housekeeping.
- Perform welding, cutting, and fabrication as needed.
- Maintain and submit sweeping logs to necessary divisions/ agencies.
- Maintain tools as required to do the job.
- Maintain commercial driver's license (CDL) and Department of Transportation (DOT) Medical Card.
- Operate forklift.
- Ensure a safe and healthful work environment at all times.
Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Individual Development (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
- Ability to follow instructions
- Knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, electronics, and familiar with associated components
- Knowledge of welding, cutting and fabrication
Training and Development:
- Develop knowledge of heavy equipment safety
- Brake Repair Training and Certification
- Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA)
- Complete Annual Operator Training
- DOT Compliance Training
- Defensive Driving
- Forklift Certification
