Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Portfolio Accountant to manage and oversee the financial reporting and accounting for our diverse portfolio of real estate investments. This role is integral to ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations while contributing to the firm's strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes for multiple real estate assets.
- Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements.
- Collaborate with property management teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Analyze portfolio performance and provide insights to support investment decisions.
- Manage investor relations, including capital calls, distributions, and inquiries.
- Assist with audits, tax filings, and compliance requirements.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including asset managers and external partners.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience, ideally in public accounting
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and real estate accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Excel and accounting software; experience with general ledger systems is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
