Geneva Trading is seeking a talented and experienced Network Engineering Manager to lead our networking team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining network infrastructure in high-frequency trading environments, with a focus on minimizing latency and maximizing reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the networking team, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations.
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the firm’s network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, VPN, and data center networks.
- Ensure the network infrastructure supports the firm’s high-frequency trading operations, focusing on minimizing latency and maximizing reliability.
- Develop and implement network policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Collaborate with other IT and trading teams to align network strategies with business goals.
- Monitor network performance, identify issues, and implement solutions to optimize performance and reliability.
- Manage network security, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and access controls.
- Oversee network capacity planning and scalability to support business growth.
- Stay updated with the latest networking technologies and trends to ensure the firm remains at the forefront of technological advancements.
- Develop and manage the networking team’s budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions.
- Manage low latency connectivity vendors, microwave, and millimeter-wave connectivity.
- Ensure FPGA-safe setups within the network infrastructure.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in network engineering.
- Extensive experience with network design, implementation, and troubleshooting in high-frequency trading environments.
- Extensive experience with Palo Alto Networks and Firewalls.
- Strong knowledge of networking technologies and protocols, including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, and QoS.
- Experience with network security technologies, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and access controls.
- Proven ability to lead and manage a team of network professionals.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with financial exchanges such as CME, ICE, and Eurex.
- Knowledge of Layer 1 switches.
- Understanding of optimal FPGA network setups.
- Experience with low latency connectivity vendors, microwave, and millimeter-wave connectivity.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCIE) are highly desirable.
