Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Traffic Controller to join our team on construction sites. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of vehicles and pedestrians around construction areas. This position requires a strong understanding of heavy equipment operation and traffic management, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with both crew members and the public.
Responsibilities
- Direct traffic flow around construction sites to ensure safety for workers and the public.
- Operate heavy equipment such as bulldozers, backhoes, dump trucks, front loader trucks, and graders as needed.
- Assist in paving and building operations while maintaining site safety protocols.
- Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate operations and respond to any issues that arise.
- Maintain clear signage and barriers to guide traffic safely around work zones.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety standards are met.
Experience
- Previous experience in traffic control or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation, including Caterpillar machinery, is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of construction site protocols and safety regulations is essential.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
