Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Traffic Controller to join our team. The Traffic Controller will be responsible for managing traffic flow and ensuring the safety of workers and the public at construction sites.
Responsibilities:
- Direct traffic to ensure the safe and orderly flow of vehicles through construction zones
- Set up and maintain traffic control devices such as cones, signs, and barricades
- Communicate with construction crews to coordinate traffic control activities
- Monitor traffic patterns and adjust controls as needed
- Inspect work areas to identify potential hazards and address them promptly
Qualifications:
- Experience in operating heavy equipment such as front loader trucks, bulldozers, backhoes, graders, Caterpillars, dump trucks, and loaders
- Proficiency in utility locating techniques
- Ability to build and maintain effective traffic control systems
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulations related to traffic control
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well under pressure
