Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Child Development Teacher to join our educational team. This person would travel between our 2 centers, one in Mechanicsburg and one in Harrisburg. The person would work 40 hours a week at the center that needs them that week. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and a commitment to fostering a nurturing and stimulating environment for young learners. This role involves working with children of varying abilities, including those on the autism spectrum, and implementing developmentally appropriate practices that promote literacy, math skills, and social-emotional growth.
Responsibilities
- Traveling between 2 centers, Harrisburg or the Mechanicsburg Center, as needed for the company.
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with early childhood education standards.
- Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and learning.
- Utilize effective classroom management techniques to maintain a structured and supportive atmosphere.
- Adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of all students, including those with special educational needs.
- Incorporate Montessori principles into daily activities to enhance independent learning.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities.
- Assess student progress through observation and formal assessments, adjusting instruction as necessary.
- Collaborate with other educators and specialists to create an inclusive learning environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, associate's degree, or CDA in early childhood education or a related field is preferred.
- Experience working with children on the autism spectrum is highly desirable.
- Strong skills in classroom management and lesson planning.
- Knowledge of literacy education strategies and math concepts for young learners.
- Familiarity with Montessori methods or private school educational practices is a plus.
- Ability to effectively communicate with students, parents, and colleagues.
- A passion for teaching and commitment to the development of each child’s potential.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.50 - $18.00 per hour
