Genius Talent has partnered with a leading economic transformation organization in search of a Nondestructive Testing Lab Technician! The Nondestructive Testing Lab Technician will support the NDT instructors for the Accelerated Training in Defense Manufacturing program. and is responsible for. This position will require a driven individual to assist with lab preparation for an accelerated, short-term training program.
Curriculum includes NDT methods Radiographic Testing (RT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT) and Visual & Optical Testing (VT).
Responsibilities:
- Supporting students in the lab
- Inventory of material
- Lab set-up and tear-down
- Monitoring consumables
- Providing overall support to the ATDM program
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Assisting with technical math including trigonometry
- Assist with Visual Testing (VT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Dye Penetrant Testing (PT), Radiographic Testing (RT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
- Monitor and provide radiation safety in lab
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Microsoft Office and general computer skills
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Creative thinking/Problem solving attitude
- Current technology skills related to teaching in the discipline and a willingness to pursue future technological developments
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- NAVSEA equivalence per T9074-AS-GIB-010/27 preferred
- Experience training and/or teaching in NDT or a related field preferred
- Experience in submarine industrial base preferred
- Familiarity with NAVSEA Technical Publications as they relate to the current requirements of the defense industrial base preferred
- Experience with NDT of welds preferred
