Overview: Genoa Area Local School District is seeking an experienced and passionate professional to fill the dual role of Curriculum Director and 504 Coordinator. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of curriculum development, instructional leadership, and the 504 accommodations process. This role is crucial in ensuring that our district’s academic programs are aligned with state standards and that all students, including those with disabilities, receive the support they need to succeed.
Key Responsibilities:
As the Director of Curriculum and Instruction:
●Foster and advance the district’s mission and vision
●Demonstrate and promote leadership that reflects the district’s core values
●Lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of the district’s K-12 curriculum, ensuring alignment with state standards and district goals.
●Collaborate with educators, administrators, and other stakeholders to develop and implement instructional strategies that enhance student learning and achievement
●Analyze data to inform decision making and promote continuous improvement in teaching and learning.
●Oversee district professional development programs to support teacher growth and instructional effectiveness.
●Stay current with educational trends, research, and best practices to ensure the curriculum remains innovative and responsive to student needs.
●Establish and maintain strong relationships with students, families, staff, and the broader Genoa Comet Community
●Promote and create a positive school culture that motivates students and staff
●Manage school resources efficiently, ensuring effective and fiscally responsible use of the budget and other resources.
●Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
As the 504 Coordinator:
●Oversee the implementation and compliance of Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 to ensure that students with disabilities are provided appropriate accommodations.
●Coordinate and chair 504 plan meetings with staff, parents, and students in conjunction with the district’s MTSS process
●Provide training and support to staff regarding 504 processes, rights, and accommodations.
●Ensure the proper documentation, monitoring, and updating of 504 plans.
●Serve as a resource for students, parents, and staff in addressing questions and concerns related to 504 accommodations
Qualifications:
●Master’s degree from an accredited university in: Education, Curriculum & Instruction, Educational Leadership, or related field.
●Valid certified Ohio State license for an elementary principal
●Minimum of 5 years of experience in an educational setting, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
●Strong understanding of curriculum development, instructional strategies, and data-driven decision-making.
●Experience in curriculum design and instructional leadership in a K-12 setting.
●Thorough knowledge of Section 504 regulations and experience coordinating 504 plans.
●Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
●Ability to lead collaborative efforts and work effectively with stakeholders.
