Overview: Genoa Area Local Schools is seeking a dynamic and visionary leader to join our vibrant educational community as the new elementary principal. Built in 2009, Genoa Elementary is the district’s preK-5 building with a current enrollment of 633 students. The ideal candidate will need to possess strong leadership, a commitment for educational excellence, the ability to inspire students and a passion to empower students to be future ready.
Key Responsibilities:
●Foster and advance the district’s mission and vision
●Demonstrate and promote leadership that reflects the district’s core values
●Provide instructional leadership by fostering an atmosphere of academic excellence
●Develop and implement strategies to enhance student achievement
●Support and supervise teachers and staff, ensuring professional growth and collaboration.
●Establish and maintain strong relationships with students, families, staff, and the broader Genoa Comet Community
●Promote and create a positive school culture that motivates students and staff
●Manage school resources efficiently, ensuring effective and fiscally responsible use of the budget and other resources.
●Lead and support school improvement plans, championing the needs of all learners.
●Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Qualifications:
●Master’s degree from an accredited university in: Education, Educational Leadership, Administration or related field.
●Valid certified Ohio State license for an elementary principal
●Minimum of 5 years of experience in an educational setting, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
●Strong understanding of curriculum development, instructional strategies, and data-driven decision-making.
●Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
●Demonstrated ability to foster a collaborative and supportive school environment
●Sound judgment and a sense of humor

How have you supported teachers in enhancing instructional practices to improve student outcomes? Provide examples of initiatives you’ve led to improve curriculum and teaching strategies.
c.How do you use data to inform decision-making at the school level? Provide examples of how you have utilized student achievement data or other metrics to drive school improvement initiatives and close achievement gaps.
