Wrap-Around Paraprofessional
Brookwood Elementary School
Hours: 12:00 PM – 5:30 PM, Monday – Friday
Brookwood Elementary School is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Wrap-Around Paraprofessional to support special education students and facilitate wrap-around care in the afternoon. This position plays a vital role in ensuring students receive the support they need to be successful both in the classroom and in our extended day program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support to special education students in alignment with their IEP goals and accommodations.
- Assist students in academic, social, and behavioral development in both structured and unstructured settings.
- Facilitate activities and ensure a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment during wrap-around care.
- Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and support staff to reinforce learning and independence skills.
- Supervise and engage students in developmentally appropriate activities during the extended care program.
- Communicate effectively with staff and families to ensure continuity of care and support.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with children, particularly those with diverse learning needs.
- Ability to implement positive behavior support strategies.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Patience, flexibility, and a student-centered approach.
- High school diploma required; associate’s degree or higher preferred.
- Experience in an educational or childcare setting is a plus.
- Must have or be willing to obtain a Wisconsin Paraprofessional License.
Position Details:
- Part-time, all student attendance days
- Daily schedule: 12:00 PM – 5:30 PM
