JOB DESCRIPTION
Quality Inspector
REPORTS TO: Quality Supervisor
FLSA STATUS: Hourly
KEY JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Follow all plant policies and procedures including Good Manufacturing Practices and safety rules and precautions.
Perform quality checks on all lines three times per shift, and as needed.
Possess a well-rounded knowledge of quality of all products.
Responsible for First Piece Approvals (FPA) and supplying the machine with the proper inspection material, i.e. Product Data Cards.
Perform special product testing as needed.
Able to operate the INSTRON machine for compression testing on all applicable finished products.
Perform ash testing on foam sheet extrusion samples using the furnace.
Perform moisture testing of APET material using the KF Titrator.
Perform checks on measurement devices including gram scales and the seal-line metal detector.
Responsible for receiving inspection of incoming poly supplies.
Test applicable products for leaks, lid-fit, and strength at the prescribed frequency.
Thoroughly and accurately complete all required paperwork and documentation.
Able to use and read measurement devices such as gram scale, dial indicator, micrometer and calipers.
Housekeeping – keep work area clean and organized, complete the Lab Housekeeping worksheet each shift.
Complete any job duty given within reason, assigned by the Quality Manager.
Requirements
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
High school diploma or GED required.
A minimum of one (1) year quality control experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred but not required.
Prospective employees must have good math, reading, and writing skills.

Must possess good documentation skills – be neat, descriptive, and concise.
Be a team player.
Be able to work overtime if required with little or no notice, i.e. cover the opposite shift for vacation or sick time.

Be computer literate at least a minimal-to-moderate level in order to input data and run programs.
Must have a moderate knowledge of control charts.
Must have good math, reading, and writing skills.

Salary : $65,000 - $111,000
