POSITION SUMMARY:
The Account Manager works directly with Genpro’s customers and are responsible for meeting customer's shipping needs by optimizing use of dedicated and brokerage capacity. They will be responsible for coordinating the efforts between departments in order to meet the transportation needs for orders scheduled, while maximizing cost efficiency and maintain highest level of service.
The Account Manager manages the full cycle of customer business development for existing major accounts. They will work closely with the Carrier department to identify truck capacity to meet the financial goals of the company by securing spot and long term business from assigned customers. This position drives revenue growth through identification of business expansion opportunities with assigned customers. They will develop and maintain strong relationships with assigned accounts.
Must have experience in logistics, supply chain, or transportation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develops and maintains strong relationships with key account decision makers.
- Serves as point of contact with customers to provide a superior level of customer service in order to maintain and ensure growth at profitable levels.
- Meets or exceeds annual sales and profitability goals by obtaining spot and long-term business from assigned accounts.
- Partners with customers and Carrier Sales to find solutions to move any last minute/critical shipments that arise
- Takes orders, negotiates, and develops customer rates.
- Sets pricing targets and coordinates pricing with Carrier Sourcing.
- Analyzes capacity and volume needs to ensure business requirements are met.
- Works with customers on improving forecasting and capacity needed.
- Develops and maintains effective communication and working relationships with other Genpro departments.
- Works with other Genpro departments as necessary to effectively oversee track and trace process, ensure order entry compliance and resolve claim issues.
- Improve efficiencies in tracking and updating status of all customer orders being moved through TMS.
- Adheres to and helps ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.
- Effectively resolves and/or escalates issues as appropriate.
- Coordinates strategy and content for onsite meetings.
- Performs other duties as required.

- Excellent sales skills
- Logistics and/or Transportation background preferred

- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines
- Demonstrated analytical, critical thinking, deductive reasoning and problem solving skills.

- Excellent Time Management Skills
- Proficient technology skills; expected to understand all operational applications utilized by division
