Job Scope:
This position is ideally suited for candidate with excellent organizational skills and good general knowledge of engineering principles applicable to the design, operation, and maintenance of facility systems and biotechnology production equipment. This position includes soliciting and coordinating inputs from teams of interdisciplinary subject matter experts (SME), vendors, and equipment manufactures.
Job Responsibilities:
Equipment Reliability Engineering:
Conduct component, instrument, equipment, and system reliability analyses for facility operations and production system including but not limited to gene synthesis and plasmid production. Also, assist in conducting root cause analysis studies.
Design Analysis:
Assist design qualifications, requirements analysis, and system failure modes effects analyses.
Document Management:
Manage and maintain centralized electronic records of equipment and instrument asset inventory and records of asset events including commissioning, certification, qualification, turnover packages, calibration, maintenance, and optimization activities.
Preventive Maintenance and Calibration:
Coordinate and summarize inputs from SME groups, vendors, and service providers. Drive creation of job plans for performing calibration and preventive maintenance activities. Cross-Check for PM job plan completeness, suitability, and compliance with applicable standards and good practices. Ensure acceptance criteria is clear, current, and approved. Assist and contribute to the engineering and analysis of tolerance selection and calibration specifications.
Safety:
This position includes analyzing and assisting in the safe design and safe operation of equipment, facilities, and systems.
EHS:
This position also includes advising and assisting compliance with environmental, health, and safety requirements, codes, and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Recent Engineering Graduate or 1 to 3 years engineering experience
- Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering degree preferred
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills required to work effectively and efficiently in a team-based environment
- Technical training or experience with mechanical, chemical, electrical, or electronic system operating principles and basic construction and design
- Ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment with changing priorities
- Proficiency with Microsoft products; ability to learn additional software applications.
