Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Scientist & ML Engineer with expertise in Generative AI and Research Implementation to join our dynamic team. This position will focus on developing, optimizing, and scaling Python-based applications, particularly in the areas of AI, machine learning, and generative models. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in Python, experience with advanced machine learning algorithms, and the ability to implement and execute academic research in real-world applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, optimize, and scale Python-based applications, particularly for AI and machine learning use cases.
• Implement complex algorithms and handle large datasets efficiently.
• Work with popular Python libraries such as NumPy, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Scikit-learn to build scalable solutions.
• Translate academic research papers into working Python code, implementing proposed algorithms or models and demonstrating their functionality through well-documented code and reproducible experiments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, product managers, and researchers, to create innovative AI solutions.
• Customize and integrate libraries, especially in the context of large language models (LLMs) and other AI frameworks.
• Lead and drive the development of cutting-edge generative AI models, such as GANs, VAEs, and transformers.
• Contribute to open-source projects related to AI and machine learning, leveraging Git and other collaboration tools.
• Present complex technical solutions clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Continuously stay up to date with the latest advancements in AI and generative models and proactively suggest improvements.

Must Have:

• Strong Python expertise with a proven track record of developing, optimizing, and scaling Python applications.
• Extensive experience with popular Python libraries such as NumPy, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Scikit-learn.
• Ability to understand, interpret, and implement research papers or academic reports in AI and machine learning.
• Experience in developing and fine-tuning generative AI models (e.g., GANs, VAEs, transformers).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Preferred but Optional:

• Contributions to open-source projects, particularly in AI or machine learning-related areas.
• Experience with hackathons, demonstrating the ability to work under pressure and solve real-world problems in a time-constrained setting.
• Background in AI, Data Science, Machine Learning Engineering (ML ops), or Software Engineering with a focus on deep learning and data-driven technologies.
• Experience working in a team-oriented environment, with a focus on creating solutions, not just executing orders.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly and concisely.
• Self-starter with the ability to take the lead on projects, suggest new ideas, and drive solutions.
• Strong team player with a collaborative mindset, capable of working in a fast-paced environment and supporting the team’s overall goals.
• Willingness to add value to the Center of Excellence (CoE) by sharing knowledge, driving innovation, and mentoring peers.

Qualifications:

• Relevant degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in internships or Co-Op programs, with hands-on experience in machine learning, AI, or related domains.
• Experience in hackathons or other competitive programming events is a plus, as it indicates the ability to think critically and perform under pressure.
