Position Overview:
Gentech Ltd, an emergency services business operating in the Hudson Valley for more than 30 years, is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Representative. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the full cycle of accounts payable processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial regulations. This role requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in financial concepts, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Bookkeeping & Reconciliation: Use QuickBooks Desktop to maintain accurate bookkeeping and reconcile accounts.
- Analyze & Investigate: Work closely with the Purchasing Team to identify discrepancies and resolve issues related to vendor accounts.
- Bill Pay / AP: Handle accounts payable, ensuring bills are paid accurately and on time.
- Receipt Tracking: Organize and track receipts for accurate financial reporting.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all accounts payable transactions.
- File Management & Organization: Keep both digital and physical files organized and easily accessible.
- Job Costing: Assist with job costing to ensure accurate budgeting and financial oversight.
- Compliance: Ensure accuracy with company policies and procedures regarding accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
- Collaboration: Consult with other departments to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
- Office Supply Inventory / Ordering: Manage office supplies to ensure the team has what they need when they need it.
- Invoicing & Collections: Oversee invoicing and collections to ensure timely payments and accurate financial records.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
- Software Proficiency: Proficiency in using accounting software; specifically QuickBooks Desktop.
- Problem-Solving: Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Team Player: A collaborative attitude with the capability to work independently when necessary.
- Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize effectively.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour
