The Account Specialist, OUTs, is responsible for developing monthly orders for residents of long-term care facilities using ostomy, urologic and tracheostomy devices and supplies. The Account Specialist reviews patient records to compile items for order and reorder on a scheduled basis to meet the needs of specific residents. The role includes gathering appropriate documentation for compliance and insurance purposes and providing proper coding for billing the orders using our enterprise platform IT system. Finally, the Account Specialist works with internal teams or third-party providers to ensure the order is placed and delivered.
This role reports directly to the OUTs Supervisor, following a training period with members of our team.
The preferred location for this role is in Little Rock, AR, but other possible sites include Yardley, PA; Des Plaines, IL; and Dallas, Texas.

Responsibilities
- Navigate electronic medical records to develop a list of products and quantities for each resident Gentell is covering monthly.
- Coordinate with the customer’s facility to validate orders and communicate with customers regularly by email and telephone to address questions and order issues.
- Properly code items for accurate billing and manage the order through the billing process using our Brightree software platform.
- Collaborate with other functions to ensure documentation and required steps are followed to remain in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Maintain a full account load of customer facilities, once fully trained, and maintain trusted, positive relationships with nursing home accounts.
- Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills.
- Knowledge of, or experience with, EMR systems and medical software systems is a plus, especially with a Durable Medical Equipment manufacturer.
- Pleasant but effective demeanor via both in person and via writing.
- Ability to write concise, clear messages to communicate with customers in a professional tone.
- Understanding medical insurance, orders, billing, insurance, documentation and all components of the revenue cycle is a plus.
- Brightree software experience is a huge plus.
- This position is a full-time role in person at one of Gentell’s offices.
